JOB SUMMARY
ORBIS welcomes volunteers in
the summer and year-round to provide administrative, logistical and technical
support to staff members with their daily workload as well as special
fundraising projects and events. The volunteers will be matched with one or
more staff members in the fundraising and program departments. They will be
assigned various tasks and projects based on their unique skill sets and
talents.
VOLUNTEER DUTIES
- Perform database entries
- Organizing electronic and hard-copy files
- Preparing mass mailings
- Performing research
- Proofread and edit documents
- Participate
in special projects based on specific skills and talents.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
We welcome assistance of
volunteers from various cultural and professional backgrounds and we are
specifically interested in volunteers with the following qualifications,
experience, skills and abilities:
- Demonstrated volunteer or work experience in a
professional environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills and the ability to interact successfully with people of
diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Team oriented work style,
with a pro-active, open-minded, and flexible approach.
- High level of professional
integrity and discretion.
- Computer literacy
- Fluency in English; knowledge
of a second language can be helpful.
- Expertise in the areas such
as administration, databases, writing, fundraising, communication, legal, finance,
etc.
