Whether it’s five people or 500, this is your opportunity to help fight blindness. Virtually any hobby or interest can be used to fundraise for ORBIS. You can join an existing activity, such as a marathon, or plan your own event — from a hike or sailing activity to a poetry reading or art exhibit.

• Organize an event. Are you good at organizing events? Bake sales, car washes, raffles, yard sales and other activities can raise hundreds, even thousands, of dollars to save sight. Check out these ideas to get your creative juices flowing.   
  
  
• Integrate ORBIS into a school project. If you’re in junior high, high school or college, the scope of global blindness and what ORBIS is doing to alleviate this problem can be compelling topics for an academic project or presentation. We will supply supporting materials.
  
  
• Harness your creativity and skill. Are you an artist, photographer, journalist or videographer? If so, consider applying your talents to creating an exhibit or presentation that delivers the ORBIS story or conveys the state of eye care in developing nations. You can present your work in a gallery, library, school, public lobby or other place where people congregate.
  
  
• Speak up.  Share our Facebook status updates or tweets.  Talk to your civic group, book club, church or other organization about why you’ve become an Advocate for Sight. Show an ORBIS video to generate interest. It may be possible to arrange for an ORBIS representative to speak at one of your meetings.
  
  
• Distribute literature. As an Advocate for Sight, you can help ORBIS by distributing informational materials at your school, library, doctor’s office, hospital, health club, local store, child care center, or optometrist’s or ophthalmologist’s office.
  
  
• Nominate ORBIS for a matching gift. Does your company, church, or membership club make grants or run a matching gift program? If so, request that ORBIS be added to the list of qualifying charities.
